Our standard
What we write down about every jacket
Leather, construction, fit, care and delivery, set out in the same order for each jacket. Where a fact is not confirmed yet, we write [to confirm] instead of guessing.
i Leather
Full-grain leather, named on every page
Full-grain means the top layer of the hide is left intact. It is not sanded or buffed away to hide marks, so the grain stays visible and the leather keeps its strength. It wears in rather than wearing out.
Our jackets are cut from lambskin and cowhide. Lambskin is lighter and softer from the first wear. Cowhide starts firmer and breaks in with use. The Shearling is suede-finished lambskin with a shearling lining. Each product page names the leather in its specification.
Thickness, finish and origin are listed as [to confirm] until they are confirmed.
ii Construction
The same specification for every jacket
Every product page carries a specification table with the same rows: leather, thickness, finish, lining, hardware, weight, origin and care. Because the rows do not change, two jackets can be compared line by line.
- Seams and stitch density: [to confirm]
- Hardware: [to confirm]
- Lining: [to confirm]
- Weight: [to confirm]
iii Fit
Measured in centimetres, with AU sizes
Sizes run from XS to XXL, which are AU 34 to AU 44. The chart lists the garment itself as well as the body it is cut for: chest, length and sleeve, in centimetres.
Model is 183 cm and wears size M.
Not sure which size to choose? The size finder on every product page takes your height, your chest and the fit you prefer, and suggests a size. A relaxed fit takes one size up.
iv Care and repairs
Looking after full-grain leather
- Break-in. A new jacket feels firm. Wear it often and it softens first at the elbows and shoulders.
- Conditioning. Once or twice a year, with a leather conditioner. Test on a hidden area first.
- Drying and storage. Dry away from heat. Store on a wide hanger in a cool, dry place, not in plastic.
- Repairs. [Repair terms to confirm]
